The former, who had a. big advantage in the weights, held his 1 companion safe. Lady Wayward easily beat Signalman over seven furlongs in lrnin 33 2-ssec. Ingleneuk, Secret Society and Tditishar were associated over six furlongs. The former, with a light lad up, - was left three lengths at the start, but ran to the front at the half mile post, and finished within herself two lengths ahead of Secret Society, Tsitsihar beaten off. Time, lmin 22sec. Chryseis and Tessera separately galloped five fur1 langs round the back in lmin 4sec. Catlierise Gordon, looking well, spurted half a mile twice. Stronghold ran four ftirlongs in 49 4-ssec. Saranges did seven furlongs iti Imiu 31 4-ssec, a creditable performance. Vardo (Jj. Thomson), Hilarity (Dorrett) and Quickfire jumped away off the six furlongs mark. The former finished easily an lmin 201 sec, Hilarity four lengths away. Vardo created a favourable impression. Pensive, over the same dietaiise, was all out in lmin 20 4-saec. Zealous and Slow Tom got to the end of a mile in lmin 50sec, and finished together under light restraint. Stepdaneer (Raymond) started off at three-quarter pace from the mile and a half disc and galloped fast over ten furlongs in 2min 16 3-ssec. He was picked tip by Reduction in- the last seven furlongs, and finished very ,slrongly. After breakfast Grand Poplar beat MakarofE over five furlongs in Imin 7seo. Glcnowlet and Gay Spark finished together over six furlongs in lmin 20sec, with nothing to choose between them. Bonnie Brae and Clinchatton got 1o the end of five furlongs in lmin sreo. Zigani; carrying fully 10st, went a mil^ and a quarter alone in 2m'in 20isec, the last mile in lmin 513-sscc.
