The Political Labour Conference, after a fighting speech by Mr Watson, in justification of his action as a Labour Protectionist and in which he said the alliance was approved by a large section of the delegates, condemned the coalition as inimical to the best interests of labour, but the Federal leader's skilful amendment saved the situation. Want of money on the part of the leaders in flic State has handicapped successful organising. ,To overcome this, the Conference has adopted a scheme for the establishment of a fund.
