Tho cricket match between Wellington and Otago was .commenced to-day on the Caledonian Ground, in beautiful weather and on an excellent wicket. The chances of the visitors are to some extent already discounted, 'and probably they had bad luck in;commencing their innings late ill the day, when the light was changing.
