MORE CUSTOMS OFFICIALS WANTED.

A' deputation from the Wellington Har-» bour Board urged. the- Minister of Cus-toms'to-day to increase the number of Customs officials on the wharves ,so as to cope with • the rapidly ' increasing volume of goods. A statement laid before the Minister, .showed that in the past ten years there had been an increase in the,, value of imports^' into Wellington of 130' per cent;,' and that during that .period tho , Customs revenue had increased- by, 93 per cent.,and that the cost* of collection had only increased 0.36 per cent.
