WANGANUI HORTICULTURAL SHOW

Entries Close To-night.

Intending exhibitors wiU bear in mind that entries for the Horticultural Show to be held in the Drill Hall on Wednesday and Thursday next close to-night at 9 o'clock- at Messrs Harrowby and Knight's office, , Ridgway Street. Indications, so far are for .a very successful show, but it behoves all supporters of the Association to do their beet to swell entry list, for it j is the aggregation of' small entries that makes the most interesting show. The schedule of prizes, which by^the way, is very 'liberally endowed this year, contains classes' to' suit everyone "and there are but very few who - cannot, •if they so desire-, find .something to enter for. Entry forms and schedules may be obtained on application. * - ■ / ' A feature of the Show this year Svill be a brilliant spectacular entertainment to be provided each evening by members of the Ladies' Gymnasium and T.T.M.I. Men's Gymnasium. The items to be given embrace a- selection . of - .the many pretty marches, drills, and tableaux given at the recent Japanese Fancy Fair. Visitors to the Sair'were unanimous 'in their praise of these items and no doubt the same appreciation will be shown by patrons of the Show. The T.iT.M.I. Band have generously' offered to provide the accompaniments. Mr Armstrong's Orchestra has also kindly undertaken to -provide a programme of music each evening.. Another new feature will be table decorating competitions for children and men on the stage each evening. The foregoing, together with sundry weight judging and other competitions will make up a pro-, gramme that no one should miss. The Show will be open at 2.30 on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and at 7.30 each evening., The spectacular performances commence at 8 eharp. In regard to the refreshments,. Miss Stanford has kindly undertaken to arrange for the afternoon tea on' Wednesday after- . noon, and Misses Hardcastle and Bayley .on Wednesday evening. These ladies have undertaken the duties at rather short notice, and we are requested to ask all lady members to assist them with refreshments without *the usual formal request. Under the circumstances lady supporters of the Show will no doubt do this.
