(Per United Press Association.) THAMES, November 7. The military funeral accorded ex-Trooper Shaw was one of the largest seen in the district. Deceased was buried with full military honours. Representatives of many corps were present. The cortege is estimated at two thousand. Reliable reports received state that the Home market is depressed, and is not likely to. recover until the cessation of the war . Very little- attention is paid to New Zealand mining. • It is improbable that any substantial amount will be available for colonial investment until a more stable market is ( established. Thames proposes to erect swimming baths at a cost of twelve hundred. The work will be carried out simultaneously with the library, for which Mr Carnegie has. donated .£2OOO.
