Police Wanted at Walmate.

WAIMATE, June 20.

A case .of incendiarism occurred here on Sunday, night or early this, morning. , On Mr W. Coltman's (jeweller) assistant opening the side door of the shop at 8 o'clock this morning he found a' considerable portion of the floor burned away, and the inside of the door half burned through at the bottom and scorched half Way up. Half burned paper, and a piece of sacking soaked in kerosene were found, these .having apparently been pushed under the door and eet on fire.- Fortunately, the fire died out. 1 Matches were found in the doorway. Strong representations are again being made by the Mayor to the Minister of Justice of the necessity, of having police* men on night duty here.
