Mr Hutchinson gave an encouraging account of the work at Foxton. The Presbytery decided to give to Mr Fleming power to baptise, and the Clerk was instructed to ascertain if power could bo granted to Mr Fleming to officiate at marriages.

Mr Ryburn reported on the enlargement of the Fordell manse, that it had been decided to carry out additions according to the larger plan. The Clerk moved that the Presbytery thamk Mr Ryburn for his diligence in this matter, express gratification at the liberality of the Okoia people, and sanction tie application from Fordell for a grant of ,£l4O from tho New Century Fund. Seconded b 3' Mr Hayward and carried.

Mr Rybum on moderation in a call to St. Andrew's, addressed to Rev. A. , Morten. The call was signed by 46 members and 43 adherents. The congregations were very hearty and unanimous., Messrs Scott .and Finlay appeared as deputies of the congregation. Mr Murray moved that the call be sustained, and placed it in the hands of Mr Morton, who signified his acceptance of it. Mr Rybura moved that the Presbytery hold an ordinary meeting on the last Tuesday in May at 1 p.m., that the induction take place- at 7.30' p.m., Mr Jolly to preach, Mr Hall to address the minister, and Mr Hayward the people. . The Clerk seconded the motion, which was carried. An application for leave to mortgage was submitted from St. Andrew's and approved. . .. The Presbytery, then., .considered the re-. 'port on the supply of, vacancies, and with some amendments was approved. Leave to moderate in a call was granted to Turakina. Revs. Jolly and Hall were appointed to • visit.Marton and Halcombe, and < Revs. Ross and Rybiirn Hunterrille a,nd Mangaweka. Mr Ryburn read correspondence from the Convener of the Foreign Mission Committee. The following resolution was passed : *— -"That the Wanganui Presbytery, in commending th<?- missions of our church, enjoins upon the ' ministero and. congregations wrthin 'its. bounds the urgent necessity of supporting with all their ability and resources the missions at home and abroad, to which our churches committed, and not dissipating the energies of the church or missions not connected- with it. It also directs that in ea«h cdngregaton a Missionary Committee or Association be formed for the purpose of collecting for missions and fostering mission interest^ and- that all monies should be transmitted through the Boards of Management to the General As-sembly-'Preaßurer.
