■ The above match was concluded on Saturday, and resulted in a win for R<>gina with four wickets to spare, after some interesting cricket. The Britannia's were 104. run*. hQlrivd on the first innings, but by the aid .of capital . batting by J." C. Martin (:J4), J. Watt (2G), G. Smithies (36), Govaii (24)) and Blake (15, not out) knocked up 151 in their second overture. Kcginas were thua left with 43 to get. to vviii, but they made a disastrous start, the board showing threo wickets for nil, j*nd" four for 2 runs.' Henderson and Goldsbury then took the score to J-2, when' the former waa caught. . Stevcntion went for a "duck.", and ml this stage" Francis had bowled five overs, four being maidens, aud secured three wickets foi\ one' run, six wickets being down for 12 runs. Blake and Goldsbury then became associated/, and the former, hitting hard; quickly put together 21, thus saving the game. A watch, composed of teams of married and single members of the Wanganui Commercial Travellers' Club was played on the College' Ground on Saturday, and resulted in a win for the married men by 2-4 runs, tha scores being, Married 89 and Single 05. A return match will be played in about a fortnight's time.
