A full conniiilice meeting of (he Wynganui Draughts Association fs called lor thin evening, at 7 o'clock, iv the Wanganui Draughts Club-room. At the conclusion _ot the meeting the nn<l round for the district championship will he drawn. Players who have entered are asked to be in attendance.

The forthcoming' Suuday will be one of special note at the Baptist Church, the services being of a farewell character, as the pastor, the Ecv. A. Dewdnoy, will occupy the pulpit for the last Sunday prior "to his visit to the Old Country. In the morning a Baptismal service will be conducted, and in the evening a farewell addrecs will be delivered. Large congregations arc anticipated for both services. On the following Monday evening a farewell so'-ial will be tendered by <he Church to Mr Dewdney, and again a large number are expected to meet to wish him Cod-speed and a safe return. During tire pastor's six months' absent-* the pulpit will be filled by minister*) of the denomination from different parts of the colony, each taking one or two Sundays.

The Frances Willard Juvenile Temple 1.0.1i.T. van re-opened for the ensuing year in the Mathieson Street Moeting JHonsD last evening with* a fruit social and entertainment. There were between 4U aud 50 members unsent, together with a number of adults*. A lengthy and entertaining programme of songs and recitations was contributed by ihe members, and greatly enjoyed.
