Kinvig joined Frankisli, but tUc total only reached 70 before both left. The' formter'was caught at mid-off by Graham off-Fisher, -aud Frankish was caught in the Blips off- Shacklock. - Orchard and Weston made a good stand, aud the total was taken to 130 before the latter .waß ; 'bowled by Fisher for 23. Laurence,' who followed, and Orchard made,a;good stand for the last wicket, and Ihc-nmiugs'doscd for 157, Orchard being bowled 'by Fisher for 50, Lawrence not out S. extras 15. 'Fisher .took six • wickets for 47 runs, Shacklock .four for 50, Downcs none for 18, aud Austin lioue for 18. Wanting. 32s to win, Otago began the. second iuutngs with Graham and Geddcs. but at 23' the latter was caught by Siinß off Prankish before he had scored. Lowden, next on the list, was missed by Sims tlie first ball. Tlie pair then played out lime until the luncheon adjournment, the' total being 27 for one wicket.
