TV last Gazette notifies that Mr R. C. H. Connor, has been appointed officer under the. Fisheries, Conservation Acts, and Ranger under the Animals Protection Acts, for Wanganui District.

A total eclipse of the sun is calculated to take place this evening. It will be visible in the south part of the North Island, south of a line drawn from Napier to New Plymouth, amd in the whole of the South Island,, but only as a very partial eclipse and only for a short period before sunset (5.53 p.m.)
