(Per United Press Association.) NELSON, September 19. In view of the rejection of the Mestayer drainage scheme by the ratepayers, on the ground that it needed the extension of the ' septic effluent to deep watsr and the cost of connections, the Citizens' Drainage Committee, formed to conduct the recent poll, met last nieht at a representative gather--ing and -resolved ■> unanimously to recommend the City Council to amend the scheme in the direction of deep-water effluent and . an equitable method of the cost of conriec- ' tions, the objections to the^orieinal scheme, and guaranteed to support a reformed project. It is probable that an amended scheme will be submitted to the ratepayers • at an early date, after consultation with Mr Mestayer, as to extending his septic tank proposals in the direction indicated.
