RHODES' SCHOLARSHIPS.

o (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 4. Dr Parkin, who was appointed by the trustees of^the Rhodes scholarship scheme to traverse the English-speaking world and collect materials from which the trustees can frame a scheme, arrived in Wellington by the Turakina last evening. He holds a consultation to-day with $he representatives of the University, colleges, secondary and primary schools, and the Education Department, to receive suggestions as to the conditions under which tho three scholarships allotted to this colony under the late Cecil Rhodes' will shall be awarded. ,
