AMATEUR BOXING TOURNAMENT.

To-moppow Evening. A well-attended committee meeting was held at Foster's Hotel last- evening. The business consisted chiefly of- detail repbrts of the various sub-committees. Arrangements' are now in a forward state, and a big, success is assured. Several unavoidable alterations were made in the officials. The following will definitely act: — Jteferae, Mr *J. Orf ord ; judges, Dr Christie and. Mr J. Harold ; master of ceremonies, Mr J. G. Swan; weighing room, Messrs Simmonds and Hogan ; glove stewards, Messrs J. McBeth and W.M. Thompson; call stewards, Messrs P. Lewis and F: Atkins. j The other members of the committee will assist in a general way. Three sets of Bryan's champion bounce gloves have been secured, and will be used at the tournament. Messrs. Drew Bros, submitted several finished medals and they were greatly -admired. They >will be on view at the maker's' establishment durinsf the next few d,ays. Competitors are reauested to call on the secretary of the Boxing Association (Mr George Brown), Ridgway Street, for their cards of admission at their earliest convenience ; alsp, they must be in attendance Tit the- stage door at 7 p.m. to-morrow. The stage- will be at the disposal of the patron, vice-presidents, etc., of the local centre, and chairs will be provided. ■ , To-morrow evening the contests will start punctually at & o'clock.
