; Press Association. — Telegraph .—Copyright Received June 17, 0.40 a.m. LONDON, June 16. Mr Balfour, replying to Mr Labouchere, said an inquiry into Mr Chamberlain's proposals wquld be conducted by the Government, not by a Royal " Commission nor the House of Commons, nor a Departmental Committee. It would not be corinered with a *J on department. Parliament and the Country would at the proper moment be taken into the confidence of the Government.
