INVERCARGILL, June 9. , In the Supreme Court, the hearing of the action for .£llOO damages brought by John Kerr against William Mair, a farmer, for breach of contract in regard to the sale of nax growing on his property, was commenced. The defence is that the work had to be carried on continuously, and that for a time the. .operations ceased. The price fixed, between.' parties, was- 3s 9d per ton, and plaintiff had the contract to sell which would- have leiT ti profit of £7 per ton. The case is proceeding.
