A case of small-pox has developed, in the house in which a lady passenger by the' Gracchus was stay ing% -Mrs Mary MeNeill, daughter of Mr Tresedcr. owner of the house, baa developed a- mild attack. The Health Officer is in communication with the Mayor and it- is probable ,that the 00cupants of the house ■vyill be removed to the Quarantine Station. Tlie house has been isolated from' the first, and there have been no contacts.

He telegraphed the Auckland' Star on Thursday hist : — It is reported here that a suspicious case, resembling 'smallpox, has occurred in Wanganui.
