THE N.Z. UNIVERSITY SENATE.

(Per United Press Association.) CHTtISTCHURCH, February 23. When the University Senate met this morning a motion of sympathy was passed to Professor McMillan Brown on account of his wife's death. A motion by Sir Maurice O'Rorke suggesting that the Government should grant £25,000 to each of the affiliated colleges for the purpose of erecting dormitories and dining halls was carried unanimously. A motion by the Rev Mr Cameron asking the heads of secondary schools whether the University regulations are satisfactory, and if not in what 'direction they should be altered, was also adopted. The report of the law committee recommended that examiners should not correspond with candidates. The Committee could not recommend that the re- - quests for concessions from candidates should he granted further. The report of the Law Committee giving details of 'passes re the late law exams, already pub--I lished, was adopted.
