— - Conflict Between the Strikers pnd the Police.
* Press Association. — Telegraph. — Copyright Received December 14, 5.25 p.m. PARIS, December 13. The bakers at' Marseilles have, struck. Army bakers replace, them. Owing to some gangs of labourers resuming work on the quays, the dockers interfered and compelled the police to retreat. A commissary 'of police was wounded in the face in the struggle. The gendarmes then charged, v .dispersed the . mob, and, arrested 15 afßjned with knives. i 1 he. military occupy the thoroughfares and, the leading docks, free labourers being protected. A meeting of 8000 naval reservists and dockers censured the Government, demanded the withdrawal of the troops, and threatened violence in reply to the brutality of the poljcje. , ' The- shipowners urge the Government to punish the reservists inasmuch as their desserts. ' •
