A NARROW ESCAPE.
■(Per United Press Association.) MASTIJRTON, December 10., Mr Wycth, a very pld Wairarapa resident, 90 ycars,..o,f.. age, narrowly escaped suffocation last evening,- owing to a room occupied by him catching fire,- caused by an ignited match-head setting the curtains aflame. His' voice was too feeble -to call for assistance, and "he was" considerably burnt' about the extremities, and sustained a serious shock. He was rescued by Miss Byrnes, who accidentally discovered what /had occurred. ? t" ' ,
