WELLINGTON, December 4. To-night's Gazette contains the amended regulations under th.c Manual and Tech- , nical Instruction Act. . Th^taaiti' features' . of , the alterations are.- Provision ipx an increased payment for 6ach» unit,, of 'the 1 'average attendance at classes, , the maximum payment being 2b 6d, instead of, 2s, as under the previous .'rules, where is is not' possible to provide for a full two .hours' instruction* per week. Payment of 9d.for a subject in Division 1., or of Is 3d "for a subject in Division 11., may be made for one hour's instruction per, week regularly throughout the school year.. An increase is alßo provided for in school classes doing work in • other subjects not lower than that of Standardly, in public schools of less than 200 (instead of 100 under the original regulations) on .average daily attendance. Standard IV. pupils may' be' included for work set out in the foregoing sentence.
