At Perth( West Australia) railway yard recently, a young man naihed Powell fell from his cart in front of a wjieel, which passed over his chest. He died «oon after. While a Lid named McCully was out shooting at , Burrundulla,- New ,' South Wales,- iiis gun burst, shattering his. left hand, and a cartridge entered his chin, injuring the jawbone. The left thumb and part of the- wrist had to be amputated. A child, aged four, years, son of Mr J. Mitchell, of Jiggi, Riclrtnond River, New South Wales, gotf hold of a flask of rum and draflk part of the contents. He died.
