WEDDING.

Gray-SpurdJe.

Trinity Weeleyan / Chnrch was the scene of a very pretty wedding at midday toAiay, when Miss Minnie Annie Spurdle, third daughter of the late William A. Spurdle, of this town, was united in the holy bond* of matrimony to Mr George William Gray, eldest son of Mr A. J. Gray, of Nelson. The ceremony, which was fully choral (the bride for some years being a member 'of .the" choir), was conducted by the Bey. H. B. Dewsbury. The-,bride was given away by her brother, Mr W. H. G. Spurdle, and was attired in a becoming dress of ivory brocaded satin, trimmed with chiffon and orange blossoms and wore the usual orthodox veil and orange blossoms,' also carrying a shower bouquet, the gift 'of Mr J. A. Wallace,: of the nursery of Messrs J. Laird and Sons', Wanganni. The bride was attended by her sister (Miss B. Spurdle) and Miss Gray (sister of the bridegroom) as' bridesmaids, wearing costumes of white flowered muslin, trimmed with lace and satin ribbons, with black picture hats, also' carrying shower bouquets and wore gold brooches, the 'gift of the bridegroom. The bride , was also accompanied by two little tots Misses' Hilda White and' Doris Christie, gowned in cream silk .with leghorn hats, and carried baskets of flowers. The groomsmen were Messrs T. T. Joy (of Wellington) and C. C. Spurdle. At 1 the conclusion of the ceremony, the guests, to the number of between 50 and 60, were entertained at 'afternoon tea at the residence of the bride's parents, where the usual toasts were, duly honoured, aftr which the happy couple left by the South train. The bride's travelling dress was a blue satin cloth, with white silk trimmingja,' and hat to 'Watch. She wore a gold watch-chain, the gift of the bridegroom: The presents, which were .numerous and costly, inclnded a substantial cheque from the bridegroom's father. We heartily wish the newly-married couple a happy and prosperous future.
