* (Bet United Press Association.) HAWEBA, June 12. At thef- last - session of the' District* Court a libel action was heard in which Thomas, 'headmaster of the Eltham State school, was plaintiff and Judd defendant. Judd's boy was punished by the master, and the libel complained of was, contained in a letter written by the defendant to the Eltham paper, in which .the punishment was described as> brutal. -The jury found for defendant, and plaintiff moved for a new trial. The application was granted on the ground that the verdict of the jury was against the weight of evidence.
