3BOO' Rifles Surrendered ,In Two Days.

All choered the King heartily. At a tfanquet at Johannesburg, Lord Milner pleaded for a truce in .political strife. He trusted that all would develop a wider patriotism, embracing an ideal world-wide Empire. Corporal. V. Fogherty, of the Tenth, New. Zealsnders, died at' Newcastle from pneumonia; Lieutenant Robert^ McKeich, of the Ninjfch New ZealanderS, was ■killed at Nitneugt, Bear /Vereenlgingi on \th_e 4th ; and Lieatenant Henry Rayne, of thY same regiment, was slightly wounded.
