Montgomery's Entertainers.

After a very successful Australian tour, concluding with a five weeks* season at the Queen's Hall, Sydney, Montgomery's Entertainers are again touring New Zealand, and will appear at the Opera House, on Friday night in what is claimed to be the newest and' biggest collections, of the world'B noveltieayet produced by the one company.: The Sydney press all speak in high terms of praise 'of this show. Mr E. Montgomery will be remembered by, 'old patrons as the possessor of a, sweet tenor mice, which is heard to 'advantage in his illustrated songs, the present craze of England -'and 'America. Mr Harry Hall, a comedian of high degree, also appears in the latest up-to-date, refined comic songs. This artist is by no means a stranger to us, and is always well received. Messrs Fred Gibson, E. Collins, and R. Brandon also appear. Wo expect to see the Opera House taxed to its full seating capacity.

A meeting of the general committee of the T. Y.M.I, will be held this evening at 8 o'clock. A full attendance is . particularly requested.'' The programme is now being arranged for the concert to be given by Miss Freda Marsdeh's juvenile orchestra in St. Paul's Hall on the 17th instant. The juveniles' are showing* considerable proficiency and a most enjoyable musical evening may be confidently anticipated. Colonel and Mrs EstOl and Major and Mrs Evans arrive by express from, the South to-morrow to take part' in the annual Salvation Army social meeting, to-morrow night, when Mr A. D. Willis will preside. Owing to Rev. Cocker having been ordered, by his medical adviaer to rest, he will be absent. The Rev. A. Dewdney (Baptist pastor) will represent the Ministers' Association and deliver an address. W. G. Bassett, Esq., will also address the meeting. Vocal and instrumental items will be rendered, including a duct by Major and Mrs Evans, who will remain in ' Wanganui and' conduct a public meeting on Thursday, at 8 p.m., also Friday holiness meeting, at 7.30, and. services in the Barracks next Sunday. A representative meeting of residents of Castlecliff was held last night for the purpose of making arrangements for a benefiting farewell to Mr Maro Neill, who is leaving the neighbour- ' hood. Among those present 'were Messrs CressweH, 'Scott, E. Hibberd, H.Robertson, F.Giblin, Capt. Irvine, J. Anthony, G. Browning, B. J. Kelleher, and H. E. Avcs. Captain Robertson was voted to the chair, and in a few words, explained the reason of the meeting and referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Neill's public services as a resident of Castlecliff, especially as chairman of the local progressive association, he having been the backbone of that body in connection- with the Heads Road and the road to the wharf, which thoroughfares' had become of great value to the place. Mr Neill had also given invaluable aid to the local volunteer movement, and the corps had much to thank him lor. On the motion of Mr CressweH, it- was decided, to issue subscription lists for the purpose of collecting funds in. order to make Mr Neill a present of a purse of sovereigns. Mr Ayes was appointed secretary, and lists were at once taken charge of by Messrs Cresswell, Scott, Captain Robertson, B. Eelleher, and H. Robertson. Mr -Cresswell was .appointed treasurer. On the motion of Mr Cresswell, it was decided to give a complimentary social to Mr Neill, the price of tickets, admitting lady and gentleman, boing fixed at 3s.
