OUR VOLUNTEERS. Wanganui Guards.

The annual meeting of the above corps was held on Monday evening Captain Dustin presiding over a fair attendance of members. The secretary read the annual report of the Council, which wo* adopted. Treasurer Gatenby read the annual financial statement, showing a credit balance of £11 14» Bd, to which would be odded the company's annual capitation grant. This was the first occasion on which the treasurer was enabled to show a credit balance, and %he statement wa* enthusiastically adopted. Cormody; armourer, Private MoElwain. Votes of thanks were passed to the ladies for their cervices in connection with the late baxoar, to Mr Cecil Wray (auditor), to the guarantors, to the Wanganui Garrison Band, and to the aeveral committees for their service* during the year. It was, decided that the price of ammunition to member* be reduced during the coming year, ai^'-that prise* be awarded for efficiency in- claasftriag. It was also- decided to admit lady honorary members at an annual subscription of five shilling!. The meeting, which was most enthusiastic, adjourned about 10 p.m.
