CHRISTCHUBCH, December 19.
In Banco yesterday morning, an application was made to the Judge to direct the registration of the transfer of -ten shares in the , Timaru Milling Company from S. F. Smithson. f (of Timaru) to E.- H. . Lough --"(Dunedin). The application was, opposed on the ground that a number of shares had
been transferred to nominees and agents of the New Zealand Flour-mil-lers' Association,, of .whom Lough was one, with tho object of gaining control of 'the -.company's, affairs,, and extinguishing? competition' by ■' forcing 4 the company to join the Association. - , In giving judgment, - the Judge .said there was nothing in" the ■■ transaction to show that' the object was not legiti-
mate enough.-. The transferees, had the right to have their shares registered, and should 'not remain in suspense. The sellers also had the .right .to insist,- that they should rbe. relieved -from any possible obligation in connection, with* the sharos. On that ground "alone the motion should be allowed. A similar motion for the registration of another transfer ~was also allowed.
