The New Zealand Athletic Championship Meeting commenced to-day on the Domain, in fine weather with • light wind in favour of sprint competitors., -- Here was s poor attendance when proceeding* commenced at two o'clock, fiecults:— 1 — 100 T«rd» — First heat: Smith 1, i Keating' 2, Bavnbridge 3. Won \>y a ' yard in 10 3-saec. Second heat: Heiild 1, Webster 2, Marriott 3. Won by hall , a yard in 10 2-ssecs. Final: Smith 1, Heald 2, Webster 3rWon by a yard in 10 l-ssec. ' • - High Jump — Harrier and C. Lanrip (dead heat) sft Sin.; E. Laurie, sft 4in. third. Kile Walk — Brown 1. The other competitors—Bell; Wilson, and Dickeywere' disqualified. Time, 6min 54secs. Half-mile — Harper 1, Cowan 2, Sutherland 3. Won by three yards.
