His Lordship proposed a hearty .vote of thanks to ■ Captain Russell, and in the course, of his .remarks .mentioned that the Board of Governors was taking over the management of the College. That meant that, whereas in the past the institution had been handed over to -others to do. what they liked with it, the Board would now stand by the headmaster more and share the risks' with him. The services of Mr Empaon would be retained, and no change ires contemplated in the staff of the school. The Board also intended giving them a better class of buildings. They could not afford to do this all at once, -but it would be done gradually. In conclusion, the Bishop spoke highly of Mr Empaon's services, and expressed the opinion that the boys in tne years to come would love 'Mr Empson more than ever, and, would thank God that they had the privilege of, coming under his influence.

The Bey Mr Dove seconded the motion, and at the' request of hiß Lordship read a short, report on the examination he had conducted at the College. The vote was carried by acclamation. His Lordship, before the proceedings concluded, said a word or two to the prefects and senior boys, who he termed the disciplinarians of the school. It was by their example, he stated," almcst as much as by the training of the masters that the school had reached the high position it. now occupied. The favourite College chorus, "Forty Teairs On," -ma neacfc sxusg^ by the toys, followed by cheers for the Bishop, Captain Bussell, Mr and Mrs Emp«on, the teachers, and "the "boyß who arc loaving us." The proceedings closed with the singing of a verse of the National Anthem.
