Tent-Striking Competition.
An interesting tent-striking competition was held amongst members of the Wanganui Rifles at the camp this morning for a trophy presented by Lieutenant McFarlane. The result was as follows: —
Sergeant Bolton's Squad — Sergt. Bolton, Corporals McLean and Cox, and Volunteers Arden, Gilbert, McCarthy, and Tremewan; actual time, 3min. 55sec. ; penalty, 32sec. ; total time, 4min. 27sec." — 1. Sergeant Scott's squad — Vols. Lockhart, Dykes, Meredith, Purvis, Robertshaw, and Scally; actual time, 4min. 25sec.-; penally, 4 sec; total time," Imin. ,29sec. — 2. , Sergeant Hogah's squad, third; the total time being omin. 35sec. The two other squads— Colour-Sergt. Purser's and Sergt. Forder's — were a long way. behind. "
