ROWING.
Notes by "Slide."
McGregor met Gordon in the final heat of the Union Boat Club's fours last evening. Great interest was' taken in the result, and each crew had its supporters. Both caught together, but soon after the start McGregor forged ahead, -and, rowing a nice even stroke, increased his lead to two lengths when the winning-post was reached. The names of the winning crew are: — McGregor (stroke), Lampitt (3V, Whit-combe-(2), McDonald (bow). The win is well deserved, as the crew throughout has trained consistently. I have already seen some of the eivws for Captain Barton's pairs at their 'work, but, as some of the men have been engaged in the fours, criticism at the present moment would be somewhat premature.
