A NEW CLOCK.
One: of the latest' otieets to- W Impiovea is the cloelc. The old-fashioned dial, with/ite'Jßoman ' numerals and hands or 'p6intei£," is denounced as clumsy and obsolete by an inventor who has designed a clock which records the time minute by minute, with .figures shown on the face." , Thus at twentyfive minutes past twelve the clock dis-. plays the .figures "I*W.» "A J^?*!, afterwards 'the 1 "5" disappears and 6 ~ takes its'place, and so on. There w certainly' a good deal to be said for this . method, which enables a 'mere child ,to' tell the time at a' glance. And.it should undoubtedly be useful for catch-ing-trains , since, as the inventor points" out, his clock tells the time in the same way as the lailway 'time-table does. Thus tho 6.39 train will leave (if it is punctual) at the moment.those figur.es appear on the dial. And the short-sighted and slow-minded wUI benefit accordingly. . ■
