Messrs Read Bros.' list of specials for to-morrow's sale at their mart appears in our auction columns.

A tramway locomotive, the boiler and engine of which can be used separately, is advertised for sale by the Wellington City Council.

Messra Williams and Harper will sell by auction at 1 o'clock to-morrow a quiet trap mare by Voltigeur ; has been driven by a lady, and trial will be given.

A reward is offered to the finder of a gold chain bangle, with padlock, lost between the Post Office and the Showground or on the Show-ground yesterday. *

The Australian Widows' Fund Life Assurance Society (Limited), has just closed a very successful year. Tho new business completed for the year o.idod 31st October, 1901, amounts to the sum of .£702,259, being an increase of .£64,582 on tho previous year. Towards this increase "the New Zoaland Iranch has contributed .£20,100. The Society is to be congratulated on the succasSi attained, both in this and other -colonies. — Advt.
