THE PATEA ELECTION.

The Hunterville Express says: — At Baetihi Mr Heslop met with a very warm reception, the meeting evidently being from stait to finish in accord with the speaker. Despite a bad throat, Mr Heslop spoke for' an hour and a half, and answered many questions put to him satisfactorily. An unanimous vote of thanks followed the

address, and the meeting broke up confident that they had met with a man who would endeavour to meet and who thoronglily understood the necessities of their large district. Mr Heslop, en route to Raetihi from Huntezville, ' made it his business to call on everyone, and had a triumphal procession along the road. If the- Coast places have half the confidence in hint- that this end "does, his return is undoubtedly assured.
