Wanganui Highland Rifles.

The following are the highest scores in connection with the firat ' monthly competition for Messra Hallenstein Bros . Cup and ammunition prizes, which took place last Thursday morning and Saturday afternoon. The conditions were 7 shots at 200 and 500 yds. 'Some capita] scores were recorded, particularly at 200, whero Colour-Sergeant Philip and Sergeant Gordon obtained possibles, Volunteer Partington 34, and Captain ' McNaught 33, while several others got 32 and 31. At 500 yds, ColorSergeant Philip escaped another possible, putting on 6 "bulls" with his first six shots, "and unfortunately missing his last shot. Volunteer A. Stuart holds the Cup for one month, having his name engraved upon it. Lieutenant Bullock and Sergeant Gordon receiving ammunition prizes. Thirty-pne members took part in' this competition.
