In the House the debate on the Public Works Statement was continued until 2.40, when the second reading of the Aid to Public Works and Land Settlement Bill was agreed to on the voices.

The Bill -was committed, and amendments made in accordance with the Governor's message .for increasing v the amount authorised to" be raised from one million to 1J millions. The Bill then passed its final stages, and the House rose at 3.10.
