WELLINGTON, v. WAIRARAPA:
WELLINGTON, July 20. Wellington defeated Wairarapa by 14 to 8. The ground was sloppy and the weather drizzling. It was^m'ostly a forward game. The Wellington backs came with occasional scoring runs. Wallace played a fine 'three-quarter game. Two tries were converted, and one penalty goal -kicked. -Burr made a try. The forwards of the Wairarapa were a hashing lot. The backs were good fit line-kicking, but had. no combination. J. McKenzie and' Armstrong scored tries. ' Ono was converted by E. Mc.Keniie. E. McKenzie and L. Armstrong were the pick of the Wairnrapa men. The game as a whole was interesting, and well contested throughout, . but there were no brilliant features. Wairarapa led by Bto 6at half-time. Mi Norris refereed.
