ONLY the other day a narrow escape from a suddenand terrible accident opcured in one of the principal streets of Wanganui. Mr was riding ftwiftIy along on his bioyole,,wben a friend on the footpath attracted hisattention, where upon he turned his' head to* acknowledge the salutation, and to hia gre»t consternation upon looking ahead again he found" .himself within a very few feet of a swiftly approaching hor«e and cart. Immediately he grasped with horror the situation, and with a superhuman effort he gripped the handles tighter and' swerved the . machine to one side, out of danger. Passera-hy stood horrified, expecting an awful calamity. But when they recognised that the machine was one of the famous Red Birds, they again breathed freely, aud acknowledged the superiority of that particular make of Bicycle over all others, aud whilst complimenting him upon his marvellous escape, one and all emphatically expressed the opinion that Red Birds hod proved, .beyond All doubt, that they are absolutely before nil others in durability and strength. - Comment on the 'above it unnecessary, except to mention that MB VOYCE, of Ridgway Street, it the Sold Agent locally for RED BIRDS, and desires the publio to bear this in mind when purchasing a Bicycle. * RED BIRDS have wings and never tire.
