FURTHER TROUBLE AT ARAMOHO.
THE LICENSEE OF THE REFRESHMENT ROOMS FINED.
The licensee of the Aramoho Refreshment Rooms, Bessie Fleming, was this afternoon fined £5 aaid costs at fhe Police Court for selling a bottle •of whiskey to ba drunk oil the premises, contrary to the conditions of the license.
The defendant explained that the liquor was supplied to a young man, who jsked for it for his master's wife, who was sick, and evidence was given in support of this statement. The defendant complained that she was the subject of persecution by Constable Cooper. She was advised by Mr C. C. Kettle, S.M., and Sergeant Dwyer to moke her complaints in writing to Inspector Gillies, assuring her that they would receive every consideration. The Magistrate expressed the opinion that there was a screw loose somewhere at Aramoho, and there was evidently a friction and a growing conflict between the friends of the two licensed places at that place. It was a matter that the Inspector of Police should inquire into, and unless something was done it, would culminate in further trouble. He instructed the police to refer the conviction (the second one) to the Railway Department. ,
