In connection with tho Beulah tragedy, by which an old man named Laverbr was killed in his sleep, the victinrs throat was also cut. Gluck's confession "points to the fact that he was suffering^fromi dementia. Ho states that he was sleeping in a passago joining the victim's room, and that during the night he found himself lying alongside the bed of .Laverty, whom ho had killed, using an axe and a razor. He did not know when he committed 'the deed. He had been drinking, and was suffering from insomnia.
