A telegram from Mangonui states that at Fairburn, Captain Rogers fired three shots at Mr W. A. Gardiner, one shot taking, effect. The wound is not serious. Rogers is said to have taken poison afterwards. The parties were rival carriers, and jealousy is said to be tho cause of the quarrel.
