LIBEL AND SLANDER.

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July IS Wilkins and Field, a firm of ironmongers, are sueing H. Wright, secretary to a Debt Collecting Agency, for jg2oo for libel and for slander. Plaintiffß had placed some debts in tho handß of the Company to collect, and upon expressing dissatisfaction, defendant wrote a letter to them saying he could comprehend why so many trado inquiries were received by his office about their business. The claim for slander was struck out, plaintiffs admitting there was no evidence to support it. Defendant paid 40s into Court.
