CHRISTCHURCH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

(Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 14. The Christchurch .Chamber of Commerce has decided to Bupport the Gieymouth Chamber in procuring a reduction in the cost of telegrams to }d on each extra word. A letter was received from the Hon. J. G. Ward in reply to a deputation in regard to various railway, matters. In the course of his reply, the Minister said free passes for Jargc users of the railways could not be granted. Amraal tickets for both Islands could not be charged the same price as the mileage differed greatly. Many of the demands of the deputation have already been provided for in the new railway scheme. The Chamber expressed the hope that the Minister would issue sectional tickets^
