Speaking ot the vaiiety business the H.iwko's Bay Herald says — "The variety business proved very entertaining. Professor Beikford's Punch and Judy show was most amusing, and while this was on the fun was fast and fuiious. Mr Kindley sang "Love is a Magnet" and "Kimberley," both being well given , and Miss Lillio Smith waa encored for "What do I care." Carl Ma/oui's conjuring act was a very clever performance, and none the less successful was Rexo, the juggler, who does all soita of marvellous things. Mr Jlorton Prior, who is a perfect host in himself, was encored, no fewer than five times, and ho deserved the compliments, for he is a clever actor, and knows how to amuse an audience. There were many other items to imtko up an attractive programme, which met with much appreciation."
