AN OFFICER PLACED ON HALF PAY.
83,353 VOLUNTEERS FOR THE AKMY AND MILITIA. Received April 20, at 8.55 a.m. LONDON, April 19. Colonel Crofton, whom Thorneycroft superseded in command of the brigade at Spionkop, has been placed on half pay. Mnjor-General Borrett, Inspector General of recruiting, reports that 83,35.} volunteered for tho regular army and militia during 1599.
