Sydney Gncdwin, porter at the Napier railway station, but Tintil recently a platelayer at Hunterville, while engaged in shunting to-day, fell on the line, and tn-o truek3 passed oier him, cutting eft ono leg above the knee. The leg was amputated, and Goodwin was sent to the hospital. But little hope is held out for his recovery. Ho has a wife and one child, miff in Y\ angr.nui. January IG. Goodwin, ran over at the railway station yesterday, succumbed to his injuries during tho night.
