Considering the amount of rain that has fallen during the latter end of the •week, .the local bowling green was in very fair order on Saturday afternoon, and, notwithstanding tho uncertainty concerning play, there were a good number of members present. Two of the trophy matches were played, the rink skipped by Mr Notman defeating Mr Chavannes' team by 18 to 15. and Mr Ross' beating Mr MTarlane's by -23t0'13. Both theße games were keenly contested, and were thoroughly enjoyable. • Two scratch, matches were also played, the team skipped by Mr Armstrong beating Mr Bonnie's by tho narrow ma- / jority of one point, the scoreß being 19 and 18 respectively, and Mr Moults being but two ahead of Mr Foster's rink, , the formeV being 13 and the latter 11. . As indicated by the figures, these games were veTy evenly contested. - It is trusted by the Green Committee that all those engaged in any of the trophy matches will take every advantage of fine weather, and conclude _ as many of their engagements as possible . -previous to the holidays.
