THE CAPE CABLE.

Received December 18, 9.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, December 18. The agent of the Eastern Extension Company is advised that the laying of the Ascension-St. Helena section of the Cape cable was completed on Saturday. A ship with the St. Vincent section will leave the Thames next month.
